Moratuwa Fire Destroys Woodworking Workshop and Adjacent Home

A major fire erupted today, April 26, in Egoda Uyana, Moratuwa, completely destroying a woodworking workshop and an adjacent residential property. The blaze, which occurred in the afternoon, caused extensive property damage, reducing both structures to ash. Fortunately, all occupants of the house, including the owner, his wife, and two daughters, managed to escape unharmed, with no injuries or fatalities reported. The Moratuwa Municipal Council Fire Department responded swiftly, deploying multiple fire engines and water bowsers to bring the inferno under control. Egoda Uyana Police are investigating the incident, but the cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time.
