The discussions primarily focused on the Sri Lankan industrial sector's potential and its vital contribution to achieving economic stability within the country. Minister Handunneththi briefed the delegation on the challenges confronting Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and outlined the government's policy measures implemented to support their growth and recovery. The meeting, held at the Ministry of Industry, also saw the Minister inform the IMF delegation about policy decisions taken by the government to uplift SMEs. The IMF representatives acknowledged the significant role of industrial sector development in Sri Lanka's ongoing economic reform process.
