Medical Supplies Warehouse Fire Prompts CID Investigation Amid Sabotage Concerns

A fire has occurred at a warehouse belonging to the Medical Supplies Division (MSD), which stored critical evidence related to the alleged substandard drug case involving former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella. The warehouse contained drug samples, procurement files, and other vital documents from his tenure. Specialist Dr. Chamal Sanjeewa, Chairman of the Doctors' Professional Trade Union Alliance for Medical and Civil Rights, has urged the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to launch an immediate investigation into the incident. Dr. Sanjeewa expressed strong suspicion that the fire could be an act of sabotage aimed at destroying evidence, rather than a natural occurrence.
