Man Arrested for Drugging and Robbing Women on Anuradhapura-Colombo Bus

Police have arrested a 54-year-old man from Saliyawewa in connection with the alleged drugging and theft from three women on an Anuradhapura-Colombo bus. The incident occurred on the night of April 2, when the suspect reportedly offered snacks and drinks to the women, causing them to lose consciousness. He then allegedly stole cash and gold jewellery valued at Rs. 1,706,400 from them. The arrest was made on April 17 in the Pandulagama area by Anuradhapura Police, following an investigation into the complaint.
