Alleged major Sri Lankan drug traffickers Shiran Basik and 'Alto Dharmé' have reportedly been arrested in Dubai by local security forces. Basik is described as one of five key figures involved in supplying narcotics to Sri Lanka, with alleged links to an Iranian drug network and reportedly wanted by the United States. He was reportedly living in Dubai posing as a wealthy businessman. However, Sri Lankan authorities have not yet received official confirmation of the arrests and are inquiring with Dubai officials.
