Major Drug Bust: 18kg of 'Ice' Seized, 26-Year-Old Arrested in Panadura

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has apprehended a 26-year-old suspect in the Hirana area of Panadura. The arrest led to the seizure of over 18 kilograms of 'Ice' (crystal methamphetamine), with one report specifying 18 kg and 716 grams. The haul is estimated to be worth approximately 200 million rupees. Authorities also confiscated an electronic scale, and investigations suggest the drugs were intended for distribution across the island under organized crime direction. The Homicide and Organized Crime Investigations Division is conducting further inquiries into the matter.
