Kuwait Reports Drone Attacks on Oil, Government, and Power Facilities

On Sunday, March 3, Kuwait reported a series of drone attacks targeting multiple critical infrastructure sites across the country. The strikes impacted the Mina al-Ahmadi oil refinery, the Shuwaikh oil sector complex (which houses the oil ministry and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation headquarters), an office complex for government ministries, and two power and water desalination plants. The attacks resulted in fires at oil facilities, significant material damage to government offices, and two power generation units being taken out of service, though no casualties were reported. Kuwait has attributed the attacks to Iranian drones, with some reports suggesting the incident is seen as an escalation of regional tensions. Emergency response teams were deployed to manage the fires and assess the damage, while Kuwaiti air defenses reportedly intercepted other incoming drones and missiles.
