Kantale Students Hospitalized After Mistakenly Consuming Poisonous Seeds

Twenty-two schoolchildren in Kantale were hospitalized this morning after consuming seeds they believed were edible. The incident occurred when a student shared seeds, mistakenly identified as sunflower seeds, with classmates. Shortly after consumption, the students developed symptoms consistent with food poisoning or an allergic reaction. The affected students were admitted to hospital for treatment, with five later transferred. Hospital sources have indicated that the condition of the students is not serious.
