Kadawatha Metro Bus Depot Commences Operations, Second Facility Launched

Sri Lanka's second Metro Bus depot officially commenced operations in Kadawatha on September 7th, marking a significant advancement in the country's urban transport modernization drive. Managed by Lanka Metro Transit (Private) Company, this new facility is part of a wider plan to expand metro bus services across the Western Province. The construction of the Kadawatha depot, which began earlier, is estimated to cost Rs. 102 million and is slated for completion by July 30, 2026. This development follows the inauguration of the first Metro Bus depot in Thalangama on September 4th, with both projects supported by the Ministry of Transport, Highways and Urban Development.
