Japan has donated six refrigerated trucks to Sri Lanka’s fisheries sector through a grant assistance project designed to reduce post-harvest losses and improve the transportation of marine products. The official handover occurred on Wednesday, June 10th, with Japanese Ambassador Akio Isomata presenting the vehicles to Ceylon Fisheries Corporation (CFC) Chairman Mohammad Nowras Nasar. This initiative, part of Japan’s Economic and Social Development Programme and valued at approximately 200 million Japanese Yen, was attended by Fisheries Minister Ramalingam Chandrasekar and Deputy Minister Ratna Gamage. The donation is expected to enhance the quality and distribution efficiency of fish and seafood nationwide.
