Iranian Attacks Reported on Kuwaiti Military Base, UAE Oil Terminal, Qatari Tanker Off Doha, and Amazon Facility in Bahrain

Two significant maritime incidents have been reported in the Gulf region this week. On March 31, 2026, a Kuwaiti fuel transport vessel, fully loaded with two million barrels of oil, was struck by an Iranian drone attack while docked off the coast of Dubai. The attack caused a fire and severe damage to the hull, though the fire has since been extinguished, and the UK Maritime Observation Organization reported no oil leak despite initial warnings from Kuwait Petroleum Corporation via KUNA.

The following day, April 1, 2026, an oil tanker leased to QatarEnergy was hit by a cruise missile in Qatar's economic waters, approximately 17 nautical miles north of Doha. Qatar's Ministry of Defense stated that three cruise missiles were launched from Iran, with two successfully intercepted by Qatari forces. The third missile struck the tanker, causing damage and a fire that was later extinguished. All 21 crew members were safely evacuated, and no casualties were reported in either incident.
