The Commissioner General of Inland Revenue has filed a lawsuit against the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) at the Colombo Magistrate's Court. The suit seeks an order to recover Rs. 1034 million in Value Added Tax (VAT) that the CMC allegedly failed to pay to the government. The case was filed yesterday (25th) and names the CMC as the respondent. It is scheduled to be heard before Additional Magistrate Oshada Migara Maharachchi.
