Indian Naval Ship INS Udaygiri Arrives in Colombo for Official Visit

The Indian Naval Ship (INS) Udaygiri, an indigenously built multi-role stealth frigate, arrived at the Port of Colombo on an official visit on Tuesday (08). The 149.02m long vessel was received by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions. Commanded by Captain Vikas Sood, the visit aims to deepen bilateral cooperation through technical training and experience sharing. Captain Sood is scheduled to meet with Rear Admiral Harsha De Silva, Commander Western Naval Area. The ship also brought essential machinery and equipment spares for the Sri Lanka Navy and Air Force, coinciding with the visit of Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
