IMF Mission Concludes Sri Lanka Talks, Agreement on Seventh Review Pending

An International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation, led by Mission Chief Evan Papageorgiou, has concluded its mission to Sri Lanka after holding discussions with authorities, including Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya. The talks focused on the Seventh Review of Sri Lanka’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF) programme and the 2026 Article IV Consultation. While the IMF reported productive discussions, a staff-level agreement on the Seventh Review was not reached by the mission's conclusion. Both sides have agreed that discussions will continue in the near term to finalize the required parameters and policies for the review.
