High-Level Talks Advance Trincomalee Energy Hub and India-Sri Lanka Oil Pipeline Proposals

During a recent visit, Indian Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan held discussions with Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake regarding significant energy initiatives. The talks, confirmed by Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri at a media briefing in Colombo, centered on the proposed Trincomalee energy hub and a project to establish an oil pipeline linking India and Sri Lanka. Misri highlighted the strategic value of such energy connectivity, particularly amidst current global energy challenges. These projects, which also involve the United Arab Emirates, have been under discussion since 2023, though no specific timeline for their completion has been announced.
