Heavy Rains End Nuwara Eliya's Dry Spell; Lightning Incident Injures Three

Nuwara Eliya experienced heavy rainfall on April 2, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, bringing an end to a prolonged period of severe dry weather and high temperatures. The preceding dry conditions had significantly impacted the region's vegetable and tea cultivation, and also led to a severe drinking water shortage across the area. During the heavy downpour, a lightning strike at the Labukale estate resulted in three individuals sustaining minor injuries.
