The Hatton Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) depot has introduced a new safari bus service aimed at promoting tourism in the Nuwara Eliya district. An old bus, acquired from the Ratmalana depot approximately two years ago, was refurbished into a modern tourist vehicle at a cost of around Rs. 4 million. Equipped with 42 seats, air conditioning, a sound system, and a television, the bus also features an openable roof and windows for enhanced sightseeing. Depot Manager M. Palitha Bandara confirmed the bus was inspected on April 3rd and is scheduled to commence services on April 6th, covering key attractions like Sri Pada.
