A person who went missing while attempting to traverse the "Katusu Konda" trail in the Hantana mountain range was safely rescued by the Sri Lanka Army on Saturday morning, April 13. The rescue operation commenced on Friday, April 12, around 6:40 PM, after Kandy Police received information about the missing individual. A specialized team, consisting of two army officers and eight soldiers from the 2 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment of the 111th Infantry Brigade, was deployed for the mission. They conducted a challenging search throughout the night amidst dense fog and darkness. The operation successfully concluded with the individual being recovered unharmed.
