Hambantota Bird Park Owner Acquitted in High-Value Motorcycle Import Case

The Hambantota Magistrate's Court has ordered the acquittal of the owner of the Hambantota Bird Park and two others. They had faced charges related to the alleged illegal importation of 21 motorcycles, including 11 high-powered models. The seized motorcycles were estimated to be worth approximately Rs. 250 million. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which filed the complaint, informed the court that they would not be pursuing the case further. This led to the court's decision to discharge the defendants.
