Gunman and Three Accomplices Arrested Over Athurugiriya Shooting Incidents

Police have arrested four suspects, including the alleged gunman, in connection with two shooting incidents in Athurugiriya on August 17 and September 8. The arrested individuals, aged 21, 24, 41, and 45, reside in Padukka, Bandaragama, Moronthuduwa, and Alubomulla. A live hand grenade was recovered from the alleged gunman, who also had an outstanding arrest warrant from the Horana Magistrate's Court. Investigations suggest an overseas-based criminal named "Kosmalli" allegedly directed the shootings, which resulted in two individuals being injured. The suspects have been remanded for 48 hours for further questioning.
