Justice Minister Harshana Nanayakkara stated in Parliament that the government has not yet obtained official Cabinet approval to extend the retirement age of judges. He was responding to questions from Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa. The Minister also noted that professionals from other sectors have submitted similar requests for retirement age increases, which the government is considering.
