Government Considers Cable Car Projects for Sri Pada, Other Tourist Sites

The Sri Lankan government is giving attention to initiating cable car projects at several prominent tourist attractions across the island. This development was discussed today, October 28th, during a Tourism Task Force meeting held at the Presidential Secretariat. The meeting was chaired by Minister Vijitha Herath, who oversees Foreign Relations, Foreign Employment, and Tourism. Locations identified for potential projects include Sri Pada, Kikiliyamana, and Ella. The consideration comes amidst long-standing requests from various parties for a cable car facility at Sri Pada, and feasibility studies are expected to be conducted for these proposed ventures.
