Full Audit of 8th and 9th Parliaments' Finances to be Tabled Within a Month

Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramarathne announced that a full audit of the financial management of Sri Lanka's 8th and 9th Parliaments has been concluded. The Auditor General is slated to submit the comprehensive report to Parliament within approximately one month. The Speaker emphasized the public's fundamental right to understand how public funds are utilized in parliamentary affairs, noting that certain sectors within Parliament had not undergone previous audits. This decision was communicated to the Mahanayake Theros of the Malwathu and Asgiri Chapters, who reportedly expressed their appreciation for the initiative.
