Fuel Prices in Sri Lanka Increase Across All Categories

Effective from midnight on May 2, 2026, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has implemented a price increase for all fuel types. The revised prices are as follows:

  • Octane 92 Petrol: Increased by Rs. 12, new price Rs. 410 per liter.
  • Octlan 95 Petrol: Rs. 15 increase, new price Rs. 470 per liter.
  • White Diesel: Increased by Rs. 10, new price Rs. 392 per liter.
  • Super Diesel: Rs. 15 increase, new price Rs. 458 per liter.
  • Kerosene: Rs. 10 increase, new price Rs. 265 per liter.

New reports indicate discrepancies in the previously announced fuel price revisions by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (Ceypetco). While Auto Diesel and Super Diesel increases align with earlier reports, one source states Petrol 95 Octane was increased by Rs. 12 (not Rs. 15) and Kerosene by Rs. 12 (not Rs. 10). This marks the sixth fuel price revision for the year. Following these hikes, school van fares are set to increase by 12%, with potential for bus and three-wheeler fare adjustments. Separately, LAUGFS Gas has increased domestic LPG cylinder prices, effective from midnight on May 6th: a 5kg cylinder is up by Rs. 220 to Rs. 2500, and a 12.5kg cylinder is up by Rs. 545 to Rs. 6245.

Following the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation's (Ceypetco) fuel price revision, Lanka IOC (LIOC) has also increased prices for its Auto Diesel and Petrol 92 Octane. LIOC's Auto Diesel is now priced at Rs. 392 per litre, and Petrol 92 Octane is Rs. 410 per litre. LIOC has stated that prices for all other fuel categories remain unchanged.

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (Ceypetco) has announced a revision of fuel prices, effective from midnight on May 2nd. Auto Diesel has been increased by Rs. 10 to Rs. 392 per litre, and Super Diesel by Rs. 15 to Rs. 458 per litre. Petrol 92 Octane is now Rs. 410 per litre (up Rs. 12), and Petrol 95 Octane is Rs. 470 per litre (up Rs. 15). Additionally, the price of Kerosene has been hiked by Rs. 10 to Rs. 265 per litre.
