FSP Alleges Unusual Victoria Reservoir Water Release to Offset Substandard Coal Impact

The Frontline Socialist Party (FSP) has alleged that the government plans an unusual release of water from the Victoria Reservoir for electricity generation. FSP Propaganda Secretary Duminda Nagamuwa stated at a Nugegoda press briefing today (15) that this decision aims to address reduced thermal power output, which he attributes to the import of substandard coal. Nagamuwa claimed the decision was made during a meeting on March 24, reportedly chaired by Agriculture Minister K.D. Lalkantha and Energy Minister Kumara Jayakody, with official participation. The FSP warns that this measure could severely impact the country's agriculture and drinking water supply in the future.
