Former SriLankan Airlines CEO Kapila Chandrasena Further Remanded

The Colombo Magistrate's Court on April 17 rejected the bail application of Kapila Chandrasena, the former Chief Executive Officer of SriLankan Airlines. Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama issued the order after reviewing submissions from officials of the Bribery Commission and Chandrasena's legal team. Chandrasena is currently in remand custody in connection with allegations of accepting bribes during the purchase of Airbus aircraft for the national carrier. He has been further remanded until April 28.
