The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has arrested Sarath Kongahage, former Chairman of the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC), and Devapriya Abeysinghe, its former Director General. They face charges of causing a loss of Rs. 14.32 million to the SLRC. The allegations stem from the recruitment of six employees outside the approved SLRC cadre. These individuals were reportedly assigned to the personal staff of former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella while being paid by the state-owned broadcaster.
