Following their arrest, former SLRC Chairman Sarath Kongahage and former Director General Devapriya Abeysinghe have been remanded until April 17. The order was issued by the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court after they were produced before the court today, April 7th.

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has arrested Sarath Kongahage, former Chairman, and Devapriya Abeysinghe, former Director General, of the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC). They are accused of causing a financial loss of Rs. 14.32 million to the corporation by recruiting six employees beyond the approved staff limit and assigning them to the personal staff of then-Minister Keheliya Rambukwella.
