He was arrested by the CID on February 25 in connection with the Easter Sunday attacks investigations. In addition to the Inspector General of Police Priyantha Weerasuriya, the petition also names the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department Shani Abeysekera and the Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security Ravi Senewiratne as respondents.
