Former President Wickremesinghe's Public Fund Misuse Case Heard in Court

The Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court reconvened the case against former President Ranil Wickremesinghe today, concerning allegations of misusing approximately Rs. 16.6 to 16.9 million in public funds. The funds were allegedly misused during an overseas trip to London for his wife's graduation ceremony, which was reportedly disguised as an official visit. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has informed the court that investigations into the matter have concluded and the findings have been forwarded to the Attorney General's Department. The court summoned the case to ascertain the Attorney General's stance on the matter.
