Former NTC Chairman Renuka Perera Arrested for Alleged Unlawful Permit Issuance

Former National Transport Commission (NTC) Chairman Renuka Perera has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC). The arrest stems from allegations concerning the unlawful issuance of 56 passenger service permits for the Southern Expressway during his tenure. Perera, a senior figure within the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), is accused of violating statutory procedures in the permit allocation. He is slated to be presented before the court for further legal action.
