Former MP Tissa Kuttiarachchi Appears Before FCID for Investigation Statement

Former Member of Parliament Tissa Kuttiarachchi appeared before the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) on September 16, 2026, to provide a statement regarding an ongoing investigation. He was reportedly summoned by the Police Illegal Assets Investigation Unit in connection with a probe into a microfinance institution operating in the Uva province. Prior to entering the FCID premises, Kuttiarachchi stated to reporters that he had not engaged in any fraud or corruption.
