Former Minister Arundika Fernando Questioned by CCIB Over Drug Trafficker Links

Former State Minister Arundika Fernando has appeared before the Central Criminal Investigation Bureau (CCIB) in Colombo following a summons. The questioning is reportedly linked to an ongoing investigation into Shiran Basick, an alleged large-scale drug trafficker who was recently brought to Sri Lanka. Investigators are examining allegations that Fernando received money from Basick and are also seeking statements regarding his assets and liabilities. The inquiry, based on information revealed by Basick, also focuses on transactions related to a hotel reportedly owned by the trafficker.
