The wife of former Intelligence Director Suresh Saley, Manori Bandusena Saley, filed a complaint on 2026-06-20 with the National Authority for the Protection of Victims of Crime and Witnesses. She alleges that she and her children are being monitored, intimidated, and threatened, and has requested immediate protection. In a separate development, relatives of Suresh Saley sent a letter to Pope Leo on 2026-06-23, appealing for intervention regarding his humanitarian issues. The letter was handed over to the Apostolic Nuncio. Suresh Saley remains under CID custody and is still receiving treatment at the National Hospital, having been admitted after a hunger strike.
