A second-round match of the 'Hatton League Mayor's Cup' football tournament turned violent on July 11th at the Hatton Dunbar Stadium. The clash occurred between the Young Mates and Norwood Sunrise teams with just seven minutes left in the game, at which point Young Mates was leading 3-1. The confrontation escalated, drawing in spectators who entered the field, leading to a widespread physical dispute. Hatton Police were alerted and responded to the scene to manage the situation.
