Five Police Officers Arrested for Multi-Million Rupee Gold Heist

Five police officers, including an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), have been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in connection with a significant robbery. The officers are accused of kidnapping a wealthy businessman and stealing over 2 kilograms of gold valued at more than Rs. 100 million. The alleged incident took place on March 18, 2023, when the officers, reportedly in uniform, threatened the businessman. The arrested officers, who were attached to a crime investigation unit, have been presented in court and remanded. An identification parade has also been ordered.
