Pulmudai Police have arrested five individuals for allegedly attempting to sell a rock believed to possess ancient archaeological significance for Rs. 20 million. The suspects, aged between 29 and 57, were apprehended on June 15 in the Tennamaram area of Pulmudai following a tip-off. Residents of Puliyankulam, Ichchalampattu, and Trincomalee, the group was reportedly engaged in a deal for the artifact. The stone has since been submitted to relevant departments for further examination to ascertain its authenticity and historical value.
