Fire Engulfs Elpitiya Tea Factory, Causing Serious Damage

A fire erupted this afternoon at a tea factory located at Wathurawila Junction on the Elpitiya-Mapalagama road. Fire brigade teams are currently engaged in efforts to bring the blaze under control. Serious damage has been reported to the factory, which is owned by Evergeen Company. However, the cause of the fire and the full extent of the losses are yet to be determined. Elpitiya police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
