Expert Committee Appointed to Restructure SriLankan Airlines

The Cabinet of Ministers has granted approval for the establishment of a special committee to conduct a strategic assessment and restructuring of SriLankan Airlines. The committee will be chaired by Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya, who also serves as the Presidential Senior Adviser on Digital Economy. Its mandate is to perform an independent assessment and recommend the most suitable course of action for the national carrier's long-term financial sustainability and commercial viability. Key members include Presidential Senior Economic Adviser Duminda Hulangamuwa and finance and corporate strategy expert Deepal de Mel, along with representation from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Transport.
