Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa was summoned to the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) on November 11 to record a statement concerning the purchase of MiG aircraft. Rajapaksa, who served as the Secretary of the Ministry of Defence during the time of the transaction, appeared before the FCID as part of the ongoing investigation. This follows a similar appearance by former Air Force Commander Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonetileke, who provided a statement to the FCID on November 10 regarding the same deal. Goonetileke reportedly spent over five hours at the FCID premises.
