Ex-Mayor Muzammil's Son Arrested at Airport Over Rs. 36 Million Dispute, Case Settled

The eldest son of former Colombo Mayor A.J.M. Muzammil was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CCID) at Bandaranaike International Airport. The arrest stemmed from a complaint alleging failure to pay nearly Rs. 36 million for a construction project. Initially presented before the Maligakanda Magistrate's Court, he was ordered to be remanded until September 7th. However, the case was subsequently settled today (September 3rd) following a payment agreement reached between the involved parties.
