Ex-Central Bank Governor Cabraal's Greek Bond Case Trial Set for July 20

Former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal will face trial in the Greek bond case after the Colombo Permanent High Court Trial-at-Bar rejected his preliminary objections. The three-member bench, appointed by the Chief Justice, has scheduled the full trial to commence on July 20. Cabraal is indicted for allegedly violating conditions, including failing to reimburse over Rs. 1.84 billion in losses incurred by the government from investing in Greek government bonds during its economic crisis.
