Elderly Couple Brutally Murdered in Hatton Shop

Police in Hatton have launched a full-scale investigation following the brutal murder of an elderly couple, both aged 82, inside their shop in the Hatton-Dikoya town area. The victims, identified as S. Kalimuttu Sathivel and his wife Sagunthaladevi, were reportedly attacked with sharp weapons. Authorities suspect the perpetrator(s) entered the shop, committed the murders, and fled the scene. The couple's children, residing in Colombo, alerted neighbours after being unable to contact their parents by phone. The motive behind the homicide remains unknown.
