Education Ministry Begins Distribution of Grade 1 Activity Books for 2026 Terms

The Ministry of Education has clarified that the ongoing distribution of Grade 1 activity books and associated teacher training programs for 2026 are being conducted under new education reforms. Secretary Nalaka Kaluwewa also specified that curriculum awareness and teacher training have been provided to provincial primary subject directors, teacher advisors, trainers, and teachers.

The Ministry of Education has confirmed that the distribution of Grade 1 activity books is specifically for Terms II and III of 2026. The distribution process, which began earlier this month, is scheduled to be completed in all schools by April 30. Additionally, teacher training and syllabus awareness programs have already been conducted for relevant education officials and teachers. Provincial directors have been instructed to complete any additional training sessions by May 16. These details were provided by Nalaka Kaluwewa, Secretary to the Ministry of Education.
