Ebola Outbreak Claims 100 Lives in DR Congo, Spreads to Uganda

The Democratic Republic of Congo is facing a significant Ebola outbreak, with the death toll now standing at 100 individuals. Over 400 people have been infected, according to reports from the African Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The World Health Organization declared a public health emergency last Sunday due to the escalating situation. The highly virulent Bundibugyo variant of the virus has been identified, and cases have also emerged in neighboring Uganda. In response, authorities have advised the public on preventative measures, including avoiding high-risk gatherings, and have reportedly moved to close Congo's borders.
