Easter Sunday Attacks Probe Nearing Conclusion, Says Minister Wijepala

Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs, Ananda Wijepala, announced that investigations into the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks are expected to conclude within a short period. He stated that the probe is progressing successfully, with findings already reported to the court. The Minister emphasized that the investigations are being conducted in a just and evidence-based manner, assuring that the law will be strictly enforced against all involved. These remarks were made during the opening of the Hikkaduwa Police Station OIC's official residence, where he also dismissed opposition statements regarding the investigations as baseless. Police and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) continue to efficiently carry out their duties in this regard.
