Specialist Dr. Chamal Sanjeewa has resigned from his position as the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Ratmalana Electoral Organizer, citing personal reasons. In a letter addressed to the party's General Secretary, Dr. Sanjeewa also informed his decision to step down from the SJB's Health Committee, Civil Society Organisations Committee, and Anti-Corruption Committee memberships. He previously held the position of Chairman of the Professional Trade Union Alliance of Doctors for Medical and Civil Rights. However, Dr. Sanjeewa confirmed he will continue to serve as a member of the party's Working Committee and as a Municipal Councillor for the Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia Municipal Council.
