Dozens Hospitalized After Wasp Attacks on Tea Estates

At least 17 plantation workers, predominantly women, were hospitalized after a severe wasp attack in Hatton. The incident occurred at the Raja Estate's 7th tea field when a wasp nest on a tree was disturbed. The injured were admitted to Dickoya Base Hospital. In a separate incident reported around the same period, five workers were hospitalized in Watupitiwala after a similar wasp attack on the Binoya Estate, where a nest within a tea tree was disturbed.
