Dozens Hospitalized After Embilipitiya Garment Factory Fire

A significant fire broke out this morning at a garment factory located near the Nonagama Sudupalam area in Embilipitiya. Up to 22 female workers were admitted to Embilipitiya Base Hospital, reporting injuries from smoke inhalation and burns. Firefighting units, including those from Sevanagala, were dispatched to combat the blaze, which reportedly originated within a warehouse section of the facility. While the fire is being brought under control, its exact cause remains under investigation by the police.
