The incident occurred when the cab he was traveling in from Colombo to Nuwara Eliya via Hatton skidded at Kalukohuthenna, Kitulgala, and collided with an electric pole by the roadside. Fortunately, neither the Deputy Minister nor his driver sustained any injuries in the crash. However, the vehicle suffered significant damage. The Kitulgala Police have initiated further investigations into the incident.
