Three new dengue-related deaths were reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the total fatalities for the year to 53. The total number of dengue cases reported nationwide has risen to 74,478 as of July 17th. Of these, 19,100 cases were recorded in the first 17 days of July alone. The Gampaha District has seen its caseload increase to 15,596.

The number of dengue cases has now surpassed 75,000. New data indicates the Western Province accounts for 38,700 cases, with 15,341 reported in the Gampaha district and 14,625 in Colombo. A special dengue eradication program is currently underway in 11 districts, covering 63 Medical Officer of Health (MOH) offices.
